Ilfacombe

Set in the picturesque Wilder Valley, Ilfracombe remains unspoilt and its harbour little changed. It's a place to enjoy the simple pleasures, relax and unwind from the stresses of everyday life.

The quayside, harbour and high street have an abundance of interesting shops to explore as well as pubs, bars and restaurants, which offer worldwide cuisine.

Ilfracombe has two beaches, Wildersmouth Beach and Tunnels Beach with a safe tidal bathing pool, but within a short walk or drive away you'll find plenty of beaches offering stretches of golden sand or secluded coves with fascinating rock pools.

If activity is what you're looking for try climbing to the top of Capstone Hill and enjoy the splendid views of the town and the Bristol Channel. Take a trip on one of the small pleasure boats or try the popular sport of sea fishing, either from the rocky outcrops along the coastline or from one of the many fishing boats that sail from the harbour. Try your hand at sailing or windsurfing, cycle the Tarka Trail or go for a round of golf, there's something to suit everyone.
